This self-propelled walk-behind features an 11.5 HP B&S engine and a heavy-duty fabricated cutting deck with a 4-inch fixed cutting height. The single, fixed hardened-steel blade zips through brush and saplings with ease and is enclosed for maximum safety. Handlebar mounted controls are easily accessible. The adjustable height handlebar eases operator control. Two heavy-duty front casters aid in stability and ease of use. Large pneumatic chevron tires roll easily over the roughest terrain for excellent traction in all conditions. The extension fits onto the mower easily and securely. Mowing with it now is so much easier because you don’t have to be constantly balancing the mower. One thing I did that made it even easier: the instructions say to leave the side skid pieces on which are necessary before it had wheels but I removed the skid pieces from both sides and the mower works even easier now. The skids were on because the mower previously did not have the front wheel kit. I don’t think the skids provide any real protection for the operator because they are on the sides and not the back which is where they would have to be to add protection to the operator who is behind the mower. So I took my skids off and they don’t drag and scrape on the ground anymore.
